Grant Description

In November 2009, the Chinese government signed a grant of $15 million USD to Ghana for agricultural development.

According to John Jinapor, spokesperson for Ghana’s Vice President John Mahama, the aid was the result of bilateral talks between Ghana's Vice President and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the China-Africa Cooperation Forum. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
