Grant Description

On October 13, 2005, China’s Yongqiu Beijing G and M Construction Co.

Ltd (BG&M) and the Nigeria’s Ministry of Water Resources signed an RMB 40.27 grant agreement for the Borehole Drilling Project. This project involved the construction of 598 boreholes) in 14 states, including Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The contract with BG&M was signed by Minister Alhaji Muktar Shehu Shagari in the presence of the China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Wang Yongqiu. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve. Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
