Grant Description

On 20 December 2011, the Chinese Ambassador signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) granting 50 million RMB to the Government of Lesotho for unspecified purposes.

This ETCA most likely financed a 5 million M solar street light project (#31099) formally committed to also in December 2011 and possibly co-financed a 110 million M middle school project committed in January 2012 (#55754). Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
