China constructs six soccer stadiums in Mali for 2002 Africa Cup of Nations Ahead of the 2002 African Cup of Nations (AFCON or CAN) in Mali, China assisted in the construction and renovation of six soccer stadiums in Bamako, Mopti, Sikasso, Ségou, and Kayes. Loan applications and disbursements are still being received and processed as the projects continue to evolve.

Ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place to ensure project continuity.
