Grant Description

The manufacture of high gradient cavities for particle accelerators has very demanding specifications beyond the abilities of most manufacturers. CERN has worked with several companies to enable them to meet their requirements, and qualifies these so that they can bid on future tendering opportunities. As of yet, no UK company is fully qualified, although some aspects of diffusion bonding at TMD is currently qualified.

The MUHiG project aims to transfer manufacturing expertise from CERN and collaborating UK institutions to UK industry.
