Consecration of power elites: Re-production of cultural and symbolic capital in status institutions

This project concerns the compilation and publication of completed and ongoing research on the creation and maintenance of power elites in and through status institutions, which is a relatively neglected area of research in Sweden and internationally. Central theoretical concepts are cultural and symbolic capital, consecration, legitimacy and status.

The project aims to publish articles in international journals and anthologies at international publishers with open access and to complete ongoing research in the form of data analysis and preparations for publication of articles and monographs.

The project also aims to develop international contacts in Nordic and European elite research environments through guest research stays at Sciences Po in Paris and the Institute of Social Research in Oslo, which will also contribute to strengthening the internationalization of research and teaching on elites at my department at Stockholm University and in the faculty of social sciences.
