Public transport is an essential urban infrastructure.
Attempts to increase capacity in public transport can provide increasing environmental benefits and economic viability, but it is unclear how socially just these attempts and their results are.
The project will investigate the connection between the built environment and public transport and it will study inequalities in terms of needs, capacity, decision-making and accessibility.
In close collaboration with decision-makers and service providers, the project will investigate issues related to micromobility, price structures, flexible on-demand public transport and transit-oriented development in Tallinn, Stockholm, the Flemish region and Oslo.
The goal is to bring about a change in how policies and services for urban mobility are developed, implemented and delivered so that city-built environments and public transport become both integrated and inclusive.
