Plastic packaging sector is a major contributor to plastic waste problem which is a global challenge with serious environmental concerns and economic impacts. In response to this problem, we have developed a wood fiber foam for inner packaging applications.
The developed bio-based foam is 100% renewable and recyclable and by replacing plastic counterparts has a great impact in reducing plastic waste and greenhouse gas emissions.
We contribute to a sustainable energy system through aspects of resource and energy efficiency as well as decreased climate impact by: utilizing recycled pulp and low-grade pulp (Rejects) as raw material with extra savings of CO2 emission and energy; Carbon neutral drying (utilizing excess heat from industry); and Smart transport (higher load capacity per freight batch).
In this project we plan to evaluate our environmental footprint as well as to identify customer value and focus market and to establish cooperation with industrial customers and partners.
