The innovation aims to significantly reduce the costs by 70% for the exploration of marine energy i.e. energy from currents and tides. Today, exploration for sea power only takes place where it is fairly certain that the currents are strong enough. As a result, there will be no establishment of marine power or the development of turbines for currents below 2.5 m/s. Seapattern's innovation overcomes a cost barrier to the spread of marine power and increases the supply of renewable energy.
At the core of our innovation is a (1) algorithm that calculates the currents between measuring points in the ocean four-dimensionally in time and space. Using AI intelligence can make predictions for streams where we don't have sensors based on historical data. The project aims to establish collaborations with turbine manufacturers, analyze the decision-making process in the value chain and obtain metrics from the seabed for the development of the analytical method.
