DTR-1 - Smart transformer monitoring and operation

DTR-1 is a pioneering software concept which would increase capacity of power transformers via monitoring real-time status and weather. DTR-1 is based on numerous case studies and the underlying concept has been proven to have high potential for removing grid congestion; increasing wind power share in the grid and improving utilization of crucial assets in the power system.

DTR-1 is based on the method dynamic transformer rating, which has gained keen interest from the Swedish industry, however, lack of commercial solutions in the market is slowing down the integration of the technology into power systems.

Our solution would unlock network capacity by providing knowledge on the component’s state in real-real time, determine its maximum allowable capacity and calculate influence of short time overload on the component’s lifetime.
