LAB testning of WaveMove system

WaveMove is a terminator type wave energy converter.

This project focuses on performing lab tests of the complete system including seabed connections to verify and optimize the system. WaveMove is divided in a floating part, a midwater buoy and a mooring system. Until now we have only tested the floating part in a lab wave tank (paid by Almi verifieringsmedel).

This project focuses on testing the complete system in a larger lab wave tank with a width of 1,3m, depth of 1,2m and 8m length. In this we test a surface unit of 1m in scale 1:50 corresponding to a 60m depth.

The tests will verify the results we are now getting from hydrodynamic test in the Orcaflex software (paid by Aker Horizons and verified by DNV in Oslo).

The project will mainly consist of detailed engineering of WaveMove for the lab tests, updates of mooring system to be scaled to 1:50 and to procure and perform the model tests.
