The aim of the project is to demonstrate the possibility of using a new type of catalytically active, corrosion-resistant CoCrFeNi-based coatings on surfaces in PEM fuel cells for the automotive industry.
The Swedish Energy Agency assesses that the project has the potential to lead to both reduced costs and higher energy efficiency of fuel cells as well as a reduced use of precious metals.
The project is also expected to contribute to the programme's overall aim of reducing climate impact from the transport sector and the sub-aim of technological development regarding fuel cell systems.
