The proposed concept study is to study the conditions for reducing carbon dioxide in exhaust gases with the help of a patent-pending laser-based synthesis reactor.
With a prototype reactor, experiments were conducted with a passenger car at idle, which resulted in a 12% reduction in CO2. The hypothesis is that the process is driven by exhaust energy and water vapor.
The study intends, through experiments and a theoretical review, to answer: are the results repeatable and consistent; how the process works; how high reduction can be achieved; how important is the heat and water content of the exhaust gases for the efficiency of the process; what does the reactor convert CO2 to; and how can that residual product be taken care of.
