JPM pinpoint solves the challenges of reducing hot water losses from district heating networks, but above all, the ticking bomb is disarmed - the growing maintenance debt to modernize the pipeline network. For decades, much of today's management network has been depreciated, but the rate of reinvestment is minimal.
The maintenance debt is estimated to amount to more than SEK 100 billion in Sweden alone.
The paradox is that once you dig up old pipes, 98% is in good condition and could be kept in operation for decades, maybe 100-years.
JPM pinpoint offers predictive condition monitoring which, with sensor boxes and algorithms, analyzes data that can select the 2% of the pipes in need to be replaced.
The customer value, the savings, for a medium-sized energy company can amount to almost SEK 200 million per year, with a payoff time of far less than one year.
This "conservation economy" supports transformation to circular economy, more specifically the phasing out of fossil fuels.
