The program mission is to ensure sustainable and resilient metals and minerals supply for the societal transition, i.e. to increase and secure supply of minerals and metals while reducing the planetary footprint of their extraction and production.
To accomplish this, every extracted or recycled atom should be utilized to its utmost, i.e. generating as much useful function and thus as little waste as possible. The program’s strategic priorities are:
1. To promote collaboration and trust across real or imagined borders along the value chain, so as to streamline the chain for maximal resource efficiency and minimal waste.
2. To create critical masses and increased capabilities in areas that are necessary for the mission but currently not strong enough within Sweden.
3. To conceive business models, policy proposals, and social innovation that pave the way for solutions required to fulfill the mission.
