AirForestry is developing high-capacity drones with lightweight tools for efficient and sustainable forestry. These drones can be used for medium-heavy transport in terrain and enable electrification, reducing energy consumption. AirForestry's technology increases the vitality and growth of forests and adds value to forestry, boosting competitiveness and sustainability of biobased products.
Current heavy machinery used in forestry causes damage to the forest and soil, negatively affecting vitality and growth. Ground-based machinery also requires access roads, which can make up to 20% of young forests and increase the risk of snow and wind damage. AirForestry's system can avoid damage to the forest during the vulnerable young forest phase.
AirForestry plans to launch a pilot system with at least two semi-autonomous drones operated in partnership with customers. The project will contribute to a more sustainable future for forestry.
