The project starts at RL3, experimental evidence is available and experiments have been performed.
Biosorbe has developed a modified pulp that, when dried to a loose wool-like material that meets many critical requirements for building insulation, such as acceptable insulation, proven antibacterial effect (reduces the risk of rot) and some fire resistance. Via work packages, the goal is to produce a porous and strong sheet material from Biosorbe's pulp.
The subcontractor RISE has a process where pulps can be foamed and dried in a controlled manner to generate dry porous materials with good mechanical properties.
The goal is to take the project to TRL6 / 7 via development and that the solution will at least be demonstrated in a relevant environment and at best in an operational environment on a pre-commercial scale.
Compared with today's solutions, production will reduce the environmental impact of CO2 emissions and reduce energy consumption in production significantly.
