Five research organisations with some 30 companies and public actors have formulated the new competence centre Resilient Energy Systems.
The aim is to significantly increase knowledge and competence on transition of the Swedish energy system towards high reliability and resource efficiency, and low environmental impact.
Collaborative environments, forming an internationally recognised knowledge platform, will support continuous development towards a high degree of electrification and energy substitutions in Society without need of large infrastructure investments.
This requires solid knowledge of how sector couplings between transport infrastructure, industry and the built environment, including business models and organisation, can create a resilient energy system. The research is supported by a number of urban and industrial development projects.
The knowledge should be as open as possible, generic enough for repeatability and wide dissemination, including at the international level.
