Implementation of climate calculations for renovation and conversion

This project will deliver the knowledge material that today is missing for the building industry to reduce climate impact of renovation out of a life cycle perspective. As focus on the construction phase’s climate impact increases for new buildings, the LCA perspective needs to increase in renovation to improve building owners’ climate decision material. 8 pilots (building owners with contractors) are included, and the project results will be based on their calculations and experience. Project targets include:

• Guidance in procurement demands and technical directions for renovation • Knowledge material on the renovation alternatives’ sustainability effects • Criteria development for green financing

The project shall reach the industry through input in social media, newsletters and conferences. The interest displayed by the 8 pilots (private and public) shows the project relevance within the whole industry as well as the potential to reach out with the project results.
