Installation rate of CO2 refrigeration and heat pump systems are expected to increase in the coming year due to the implementation of F-gas regulations. This makes it necessary to experimentally verify methods of maximizing their efficiency.
This projects aims at experimentally investigating at least 4 methods of overfeeding low temperature evaporators in CO2 refrigeration systems and evaluate the performance of ejector and injector function at the medium temperature level. The project will also investigate the heat recovery performance for space heating, domestic hot water production, and heat export to district heating.
The project will take advantage of the ongoing plan of EGI-KTH to rebuild the cooling system of the existing climate chambers in its laboratory. CO2 based system will be installed, with the help of this project the system can be equipped with additional components and features to run the proposed experimental investigations in this project.
