Freevalve's technology enables combustion engines to be run on pure renewable liquid fuels, significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as well as reducing the size and weight of the engine. The main challenge we are tackling in the project is to validate the technology and its function, performance and durability – initially in a laboratory environment and finally in an operational, on-vehicle environment.
Subsequently, we want to demonstrate that our technology outperform present state-of-the art engines with traditional camshaft by showing how it enables improvement of performance, reduction of fuel consumption and emissions.
Project result: A successful result will confirm the commercial viability of the NVG technology and pave the way for testing of B-prototypes with OEM.
Freevalve is the main applicant. The project will last 18 months - from January 2021 to July 2022. The project contributes to the targets of the FFI Program 4.2 (4.2.1 and 4.2.2) and 4.4
