The project aims to develop and evaluate a new technology for improved efficiency (lower energy consumption and improved product quality) when drying powder materials in industrial processes during flash drying eg in the starch industry.
A dryer injector, which replaces traditional screw feeder technology, spreads from the feed point the moist powder evenly over the entire cross-sectional area of ??the drying tube creating a larger surface of the powder available for the hot air to dry the powder.
The aim of the project is to further develop the prototype developed of the dryer injector and adapt it for industrial use as well as evaluate it in industrial flash dryers for starch, protein and / or fiber.
Furthermore, the goal of the industrial evaluation is to measure the increased energy efficiency and the improved product quality of the final product.
LARSSON and HAPAB/Sanso develop the drying injector and evaluate it industrially installed at Finnamyl by follow-up analyzes by DTU.
