Improved recycling of metal-containing plastic wastes via (catalytic-)pyrolysis

The project aims to improve the recycling of metal-containing plastic waste into monoaromatics and metal residues for industrial applications, by designing efficient pyrolysis systems in batch and continuous processes in both non-catalytic and catalytic configurations.

The metal residues can be recycled for further relevant industrial applications and monoaromatics can be used both for fuel and as building blocks in the chemical manufacturing industry. The project reduces the industry's climate impact because fossil raw materials can be replaced by recycled ones.
