Electricity transition through intermediaries? Consultants in the smart grid development

The project focuses on consultants, their role and their influence in the design of the future smart grid.

The project uses earlier research on smart grids and research on intermediaries to study the role of consultancy firms as intermediaries. Document studies, participator observation of workshops and interview will be conducted.

The conclusions focus on how these intermediaries envision the smart grid, what problems and solutions they prioritize and what influence they have on the actual design of the smart grid. The Swedish Energy Agency funds the project based on the important empirical insights produced in the project.

The results will strengthen the interactions in the energy system and the transition, where smart grid plays an important part.
