Grant Description

In an E2B2 project that will be completed shortly, a survey and analysis of the problem of occupancy density has been made. One result is that overcrowding causes negative impact and damage, which is a major problem in some areas.

What is still missing is a representative quantification of overcrowding through measurements of physical parameters, which are linked to load, indoor environment and energy efficiency. Evaluations of measures are also needed to reduce the problems taking into account energy and economy aspects.

The now applied project will measure the physical indoor environment in all seasons in combination with an indoor environment questionnaire in about 50 apartments in areas with existing overcrowding to provide more secure input data for correctly based simulations, as well as introduce measures in the apartments and measure again.

As a result of this projects, measures with the desired effect can be proposed and implemented widely.
