The project aim to increase the driving range for an EV in a WLTC cycle by 3 percent and consequently open up for battery weight reduction of ~15kg or cost saving of 5-10 kSEK. • Offer fossil-free, non-toxic, water miscible, fire safe lubrication of high-performance transmissions.
• Drastically improve service life of lubricant and components compared with today’s oil-based technology to meet 100 000 km service-life. • Develop methodology and test rigs for the study and optimization of WBL lubrication.
• Develop an understanding of lubrication properties and failure modes of surfaces lubricated by water-based lubricants.
• Investigate additional functionality of the lubricant, such as cooling of the battery pack or cooling of the motor windings. • Promote the collaboration between SKF, CEVT and LTU.
• Promote use of waste from Swedish forest industry and strengthen the competitiveness of Sweden and the Swedish automotive industry in a global perspective.
