Communicative buildings for reduced energy impact

This project consolidates a number of research activities focused on integrating buildings with its occupants - in particular, developing communication channels for human-system interactions.

The aspiration is that such a project will tackle two major themes in parallel: improving the energy cycle and reducing the resource footprint of the building sector by 1) increasing the energy-awareness of occupants and 2) positively affect occupants to reducing their energy usage by so-called nudging.

The project is designed to ensure maximal impact throughout society. Through seven work packages it will stimulate interdisciplinary, applied research and technological development at the forefront of buildings’ energy systems and lead to a system that through integration with buildings may lead to a more energy efficient living.
