The construction sector aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to 2030 and have net zero emissions by 2045.
The implementation of electrified vehicles and construction machines used at worksites, especially for tasks like excavation and groundwork requiring high power consumption, is an important step towards achieving these goals.
The project aims to show how electrified construction machines can be integrated into both smaller and larger construction projects and maintenance activities such as street maintenance, snow removal, etc.
To do this, the project will have a focus on the system perspective where constriction machines, energy storage and charging infrastructure are tested in different environments to clarify the need for changes in technical and organizational peripheral systems.
Furthermore, the project will build up knowledge, models and develop a methodology intended to be used in a future system demonstration of a fully electrified construction site in Gothenburg.
