Grant Description

CIGS solar cells have reached above 23 % record efficiency.

In order to reach further in efficiency the focus in this project is on recycling of photons by using a reflective and scattering as well as passivating solar cell structure with ultrathin CIGS layer with a small amount of added silver.

This project aims at understanding the basic mechanisms for photon-recycling and how one can increase the share of radiative recombination to further enhance the conversion efficiency for this type of devices.
