Radical reduction of datacenter energy consumption by memory compression

Zeropoint Technologies AB has developed Ziptilion, an innovative, patented compression technology consisting of an IP block on a chip.

It exploits the memory resources so efficiently that it doubles memory capacity and bandwidth which significantly increases the performance of a computer.

This results, according to Zeropoint Technologies, in a system that delivers up to 50% more performance per watt and have the potential to cut energy consumption by half.
