Grant Description

The project aims to study how bioenergy extraction from thinning of forests galled with different intensities affects the biodiversity of soil vegetation, tree-living lichen and insects.

In the project, landscape models for the species' preferences are also being developed for different rows of stratification and density in the lean forest.

The Swedish Energy Agency believes that today, to a large extent, there is no knowledge of the nature conservation effects of thinning and that the project can contribute to filling this knowledge gap and contribute to meeting the call for objectives Guidelines are available for the extraction of forest fuel without adverse impact on biodiversity.
