Grant Description

In 2022, the Chinese Embassy provided grant funding for Phase 2 of Guyana’s Orphanage Funding Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to support local orphanages in Guyana. The Chinese Embassy in Guyana provided partial funding, and a total of 11 orphanages benefitted from the project. The total amount of funding provided by the Chinese Embassy and to which orphanages is unknown.

An initiative launch ceremony was held on October 6, 2022. China’s Ambassador to Guyana Guo Haiyan and the First Lady of Guyana Alya Ali attended the ceremony.
