Grant Description
On March 4, 2022, the Chinese Embassy and the Guyana Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of understanding.
The MoU objectives included cooperation in the field of medicine and health, specifically focusing on the training of Guyanese doctors. The monetary value of these memorandum objectives is unknown. A signing ceremony was held in Guyana.
At the ceremony, the memorandum was signed by Hu Hanming, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, and Malcolm Watkins, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Guyana. Ambassador Guo Haiyan and Guyana’s Minister of Health Anthony also attended the ceremony. The training of the doctors was carried out by the 17th Chinese medical team in Guyana.
