Grant Description

Through Nationally Determined Contribution Investment Accelerator (NDCIA) technical approach for the Low Emission Accelerator Partnership (LEAP) grant, WRI will dramatically increase deployment of renewable energy (RE) through mobilizing private sector investment in 2-4 pilot countries.

As the program evolved, WRI refined the name of this initiative to the Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA) to reflect the range of renewable energy opportunities it supports.

WRI will do this by addressing and resolving key barriers in the RE policy and finance sectors through an innovative public private partnership model and targeted, country-specific engagement.

WRIs CEIA approach centers on three essential levers --Policy, Pipeline and Purchasers (3 Ps) --to drive the deployment of tens of thousands of megawatts of clean energy and mobilize hundreds of millions in public and private finance.
