Grant Description
On June 8, 2022, the 22nd Chinese medical team set off for Uganda.
The team consists of nine physicians and surgeons, specializing in different fields including gastroenterology, urology, infectious diseases, otolaryngology, anesthesiology, and traditional Chinese medicine.
The 22nd Chinese medical team to Uganda comes from Yunnan Province and members came specifically from the Third People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, the Yunnan Provincial Infectious Disease Hospital, the Cooperation of Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of Yunnan Province , and Kunming University of Science and Technology.
While in Uganda, the team will focus on improving health care provisions in Uganda, including relieving disease burdens and deepening cooperation in hospital management. The team will be based at China-Uganda Friendship Hospital in Kampala, Uganda.
The 22nd medical team has received more than 7,800 patients, performed 1,100 operations, and conducted 11 medical tours.
