Grant Description

On April 14, 2022, Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong and Ugandan Finance Minister Kasa Ija signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement on behalf of China and Uganda at the Ministry of Finance of Uganda.

This agreement is part of efforts announced by China at the Eighth Ministerial Conference on the Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held in Senegal in November 2022. At the meeting, China announced nine cooperation programs aimed at fostering growth in Africa. The ETCA serves as a measure to implement these projects under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
