Grant Description

On April 8, 2022, the World Food Program, along with Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, inaugurated new school kitchens and a water facility to school children in EBC 123 Darlau, EBF 12 Lebutun and EBF Lelaus.

The Chinese Government provided financial support for this project, including Information and Communication Technology equipment to four pilot schools in Dili. This donation was part of the World Food Program’s health and nutrition pilot project.

The purpose of this donation was to improve students’ learning processes, enrich talents and improve cognitive development. The monetary value of China’s contribution is unknown.

In addition to these new facilities, the Chines Embassy donated classroom supplies such as whiteboards, laptops, sports water bottles, footballs, audio speakers, guitars, and electronic pianos.
