Grant Description

On January 17, 2022, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi pledged funds worth 100 million RMB to aid the Philippines' reconstruction efforts in areas devastated by Typhoon Odette. The grant was announced in a speech at the 5th Manila Forum for Philippines-China Relations.

Typhoon Odette left billions of pesos in damages to infrastructure and agriculture after making seven destructive landfalls in the Philippines in December of 2021.
