Grant Description

On April 26, 2022, the Chinese Government signed a RMB 129 million grant agreement with the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment to strengthen Cuba's ability to confront drought.

The project is also expected to contribute to improving sanitation services and expanding the resilience of the hydraulic sector.

The signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) and presided over by the president of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez; the vice minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Déborah Rivas Saavedra and the economic and commercial advisor of the embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cuba.

Directors and officials from MINCEX, INRH, the Light Industry Business Group and the Cuban companies Cubahidraúlica and Bk Import/Export also participated, as well as officials from the Chinese embassy in Havana.
