Combating Illegal Logging to Reduce Deforestation, Forest Degradation, and their Associated Emissions.

The purpose of this agreement is to assist assistance-eligible climate-targeted developing countries to reduce illegal harvest and trade in timber and forest products, and by doing so both reduce emissions associated with deforestation and forest degradation as well as reduce importantion of illegally harvested wood from timber producing and processing countries to the United States.
