Grant Description

From March 24 to April 10, 2003, at the invitation of women’s organizations and ministries in Cyprus, Tunisia, and Comoros, a delegation from the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF) led by Vice-President Shen Shuji visited the three countries.

In Comoros, Shen Shuji met with President Azali Assoumani, the First Lady, the Vice-President, and other government and women’s leaders.

At this meeting, she presented a gift letter to the Secretary-General of Comoros’ government, confirming ACWF’s plan to donate sewing equipment to support women in Comoros later that year.

The intent of the pledged donation is to provide local women with tools to improve livelihoods and support small-scale economic activities.
