Grant Description

On December 3, 2021, the Chinese Government donated K24 million to the First Lady's Shaping Our Future Foundation in Malawi. The donation occurred at a handover ceremony which was held at the Presidential Palace of Malawi.

Ambassador Liu Hongyang, President Ma's wife Monica Chakwila, and Vice Minister of Health Chrissy Kanyasho attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The donation will be used to fund education in Malawi and ensure that 120 girls stay in school. During the ceremony, the Chinese Government also donated medical supplies (Record ID#96949) amounting to K40 million.
