Grant Description
On August 8, 2021, the Chinese city of Meishan and the Ecuadorian city of Latacunga signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of Friendly Cooperation Relations. The central issues of assistance will be related to the sectors of economy, trade, culture, science and technology.
It is hoped that the two sides will take the signing of cooperation as an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding, promote people-to-people ties between the two countries, and add new elements to the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Ecuador. Implementation of the MoU has yet to be confirmed.
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador.
Chen Guoyou, the Chinese Ambassador to Ecuador, the mayor of Latacunga, Ecuador, the Deputy Secretary of Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the director of the Department of Asia and Oceania attended the ceremony.
