On May 18, 2021, the Chinese government donated a newly constructed Nsipe Police Post to the Government of Malawi.
The Nsipe Police Post, located in the Ntcheu District, will be used to assist Malawi in its reduction of road accidents and crime.
It will serve a population of about 80 thousand Malawian people from Traditional Authorities Kwataine, Makwangwala, and Champiti. The Nsipe Police Post is worth K188 million.
The donation occurred at a handover ceremony, where Chinese Ambassador to Malawi Liu Hongyang and Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima were in attendance.
In addition to the Nsipe Police Post, the Chinese government also donated furniture, five motorbikes, and a refrigerator to assist the new facility.
