The handover ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador Tang Songgen, MHMS Secretary Uering Iteraera, MHMS Director General Revite Kirition, the MHMS team and the second Chinese medical team to Kiribati (see Record ID#97268).
The donation included 100 hospital beds, 100 cabinets, 50 disinfection carts, 50 wheelchairs, 100 crutches, 100 infusion stands, ultraviolet disinfection lamps, and a batch of kitchen equipment, including refrigerators, disinfection cabinets, serving carts, etc. (see source ID #203369).
They will be mainly used in Tungaru Central Hospital and clinics in Tarawa to alleviate the concentration of patients in the capital and the shortage of medical resources. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
