Grant Description

On October 12, 2021, the Chinese Embassy in the Solomon Islands donated sewing machines and other livelihood materials to the Malaita Mothers' Union, a women’s organization affiliated with the Anglican Church. The donation aims to support women's economic empowerment and skills development in Malaita Province.

The monetary value of the donation is unknown. The handover ceremony was attended by Ms. Ramani, President of the Malaita Mothers' Union, along with women’s representatives from across the province.

Shen Weizu, representing the Chinese Embassy, remarked that this donation followed a recent meeting between Chinese Ambassador Li Ming and members of the Malaita Mothers' Union, during which both sides discussed potential areas for future cooperation.
