Grant Description

On August 10, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar Wunna Maung Lwin and the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai signed an agreement for China to fund 21 projects in Myanmar through a USD $6.1 million grant. The transfer of funds occurred through the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation, which the two nations are a part of.

The projects that will be implemented through this fund include projects in non-traditional security, human capital development, vaccine production for animal diseases, culture, agriculture, natural disaster protection, science and technology, environmental conservation, forestry, border trade, tourism, and finance.
