On February 1, 2022, the Chinese Government provided COVID-19 supplies to the National Hospital of Samoa.

This batch of anti-epidemic materials includes 20,000 disposable medical masks, 10,000 surgical gloves, 10,000 isolation shoe covers, 9,000 medical caps, 2,000 medical protective clothings, 600 medical goggles. The purpose of this donation was to support Samoa’s COVID-19 response efforts. The monetary value of this donation is unknown.

A handover ceremony was held for this donation. Chao Xiaoliang, the Chinese Ambassador to Samoa, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
