On June 30, 2022, the Chinese Government donated an additional 2 million Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Government of Myanmar via Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
At the Chinese ambassador's residence in Yangon, Ambassador Chen Hai handed over the donation to Cambodian Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, ASEAN chair's special envoy on Myanmar, and ASEAN's deputy secretary-general Ekkaphab Phanthavong.
In 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Government donated approximately 23.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Myanmar.
