Between May 18 and May 29, 2022, the Chinese Government delivered 10 million donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses, 13 million donated COVID-19 vaccine syringes and two donated mobile laboratory vehicles to the Government of Myanmar.
The vaccines were to be used in the inoculation of children aged five to 12-years old, and the two mobile laboratory vehicles were to be used at the country's border checkpoints. On May 29, a handover ceremony was held at Yangon International Airport. Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Chen Hai and Myanmar's Minister of Health, Thet Khaing Win attended.
In 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Government donated approximately 23.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Myanmar.
